Colonel Michael Carrington, who had been instrumental in organizing and establishing our new Romanian Chapter, was to be knighted in Oxford on Saturday, the 15th of September, 2018. Tragically, he passed away earlier this year. The Grand Master Istvan von Habsburg-Lothringen conferred knighthood posthumously on Col. Carrington, and Grand Master Emeritus Andreas von Habsburg-Lothringen awarded him the Von Sporck Award, which was accepted by his widow, Elizabeth Carrington (Nobrega de Araujo Tsakiroglou).
The International Order of St. Hubertus (IOSH) is a true knightly order in the historical tradition. The Order is under the Royal Protection of His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain. The Grand Master Emeritus of The IOSH is His Imperial and Royal Highness Archduke Andreas Salvador von Habsburg-Lothringen of Austria (Patron and Chairman of The Maria Nobrega Foundation), and the current IOSH Grand Master is His Imperial and Royal Highness Istvan von Habsburg-Lothringen, Archduke of Austria, Prince of Hungary.
The International Order of St. Hubertus is comprised of an international group of individuals, Ordensbrothers, who are passionate about the sports of hunting and fishing, and who are vitally interested and actively involved in the preservation of wildlife, its habitat, and the tradition of ethical hunting and fishing.
